We run a fairly standard pre-press department
and use current versions of prepress & design software
and can therefore handle most files sent to us.
Our goal is to produce your job to your satisfaction, on
time and at the lowest possible price to you. Following our
guidelines will dramatically increase the likelihood of your
job going through the stages of production quickly and easily.
In naming files, please use sensible names - dont use
code numbers etc which are understandable only by your company.
All disks and their cases / sleeves should be clearly marked
with the name of your job, and company contact details.
Supported File Types
Our preferred file format for your artwork is CorelDraw,
eps format or PDF files (that have not been encrypted).
We also can accept Illustrator and Photoshop file formats.
Illustrator files, please link (do not embed) all artwork
(logos etc) and images when saving your files. For Photoshop
files, we insist that images are saved with layers intact
(not flattened) as a PSD or TIFF file.
If you must supply JPEG images then do so at your own risk!
Only supply JPEGS if they are already a high quality JPEG
(ie: from a digital camera).
Given the final output size of some jobs, it may not be possible
for you to set up your document at 100% of the final print
size. You may set up your document at a percentage of final
size (50%, 25% or 20%), but please clearly communicate the
final output size to us AND write it on your order.
We accept files on CD's or you can email files to us
(under 3MB).
Fonts
You must supply all fonts or convert fonts to outlines /
paths
Please use native font variations rather than applying any
font style attributes from font style menus. You may often
see the style change appear on the screen, but it may not
appear on the printed document. For example, use the font
Times Italic rather than using Times
and selecting Italic from a pull-down menu.
ICC profiles.
We prefer that you do not embed any colour profiles
in your jobs. Therefore, your programs should have any colour
management options turned off before you save the files. In
your file save / save as windows, you should be sure any embed
profiles options are not checked.
All artwork should be saved as CYMK.
Hardcopies
We prefer that you supply hardcopy (even a laser print)
with your job to ensure accurate reproduction. Otherwise we
can not be held responsible for file corruption etc with your
file. Please note that hardcopies not 100% in size create
potential scaling problems. Also include any notes on pms
colours etc if applicable. If you change your layout in any
way during the printing process after supplying your artwork,
the responsibility for cost of any rework is incurred by the
client.
Proofs
We offer a proof of each job. Asking us to proceed
without your approval of a proof waives our responsibility
for cost of any rework.
